National Express also serves Minehead (Butlins / Parade stops) from various UK cities, in practice using the same bus-28 corridor from Taunton for the final leg. Minehead's own station is the heritage West Somerset Railway (steam/diesel), not part of the National Rail network and not a year-round service, /access hubs for details.
South Haven Point itself has no public transport of its own. The harbour mouth has to be crossed by the Sandbanks chain ferry (Sandbanks ↔ Studland/Shell Bay, daily year-round, about every 20 minutes, first sailing 07:00 from Sandbanks and last around 23:00) since there is no walking route around Poole Harbour. From the Sandbanks side, morebus's Purbeck Breezer route 50 continues to Bournemouth railway station (CRS: BMH). The South West Coast Path Association's own guidance is: train to Bournemouth (about 1 hour 45 minutes from London), then two buses via the Sandbanks ferry to South Haven Point (about 1 hour). The same journey in reverse gets a finisher back to rail. Poole station (CRS: POO) is a shorter road hop from South Haven Point than Bournemouth but the bus/ferry combination still applies. Bournemouth Airport (BOH) is the nearest airport, linked to Bournemouth town/station by morebus route 737, which runs Monday-Friday only per current data. Weekend operation was not confirmed.
The Path is a strictly linear 630-mile/1,012.8km route and no dedicated car-relocation or shuttle-your-car service covering the whole trail was found. The Path Association's own advice for multi-day walks is to arrange long-stay parking directly with accommodation providers in advance (many B&Bs will hold a car for a walker's whole trip if asked, on an informal, unadvertised basis) or to consult its paid-membership 'Complete Guide', which lists long-stay parking spots but is not itself a booking or relocation service. In practice most end-to-end walkers do not drive to Minehead and leave a car for 5-8 weeks: they travel to both ends by train/coach, because rail/coach links exist at both ends and because very few facilities are actually set up for genuine multi-week car storage (see parking. Most coastal car parks are pay-and-display with no advertised 'leave it for two months' product, though several also show no explicit maximum-stay limit if you keep paying). A minority leave a car at Minehead (using a hotel arrangement or by buying successive weekly tickets at a Somerset Council car park) and take public transport back to it after finishing at South Haven Point; this is more workable than leaving a car at the Dorset end, where the only genuinely staffed long-stay option (Poole Harbour Commissioners' passenger car park) is 5 miles/8km from the trail terminus and charges a flat £15/24h with no long-stay discount found.
The trail runs close to a working rail or coach corridor at fairly frequent intervals, so weather, injury or time pressure rarely force a very long walk inland. Towns with a rail connection identified by the National Trail's own overview include (north to south) Barnstaple, Newquay, Hayle/St Erth/Lelant/Carbis Bay/St Ives, Penzance, Falmouth, Par, St Austell, Looe, Plymouth, Paignton, Torquay, Dawlish, Exmouth, Weymouth and Swanage; most other coastal towns have a National Express or local bus link instead. Confirm the specific stop's last-service time locally before relying on it. Several of these are single branch lines or infrequent rural bus routes with early last departures, and this research did not verify individual last-service times for each (that is covered at the per-stop level, not here).
